Animal Expressions Young Artist Contest


Help The Anti-Cruelty Society celebrate its 113th birthday by promoting
kindness to animals - Enter our Animal Expressions Young Artists Contest!

This year's theme is "Best Friends." Who is your best animal friend and why? What is his or her story and why is your best friend an important part of your life? Even if you do not have a pet, you can promote kindness to animals. You may wish to choose one of the following topics.

  •  My favorite animal
  • Adopt don’t buy
  • Provide a family for a homeless pet
  • How we can help animals
  • Or come up with a topic of your own!
This contest is open to all young people between 5 and 18 years of age. Special recognition will be given at each age level for each artistic genre in which entries have been received.


Age Levels:
5-7 year olds, 8-10 year olds, 11-13 year olds, 14-18 year olds

Artistic Genre Categories:

  • Rendering (Posters, Paintings, Drawings, Etching and Prints)
  • 3-Dimensional (Sculptures, Crafts)
  • Photography
  • Writing (Poems, Short Stories, Plays, Essays)
  • Multi-media (Video, Music, Computer Arts)

Entries will be judged by age level on originality, creativity and how well the entry illustrates the theme.
The deadline for contest submissions is February 10, 2012.

The deadline for contest submissions is February 10th, 2012. Contest winners will be notified
