Working Through Pet Loss

Wednesday 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
This open educational group is dedicated to working through the emotional rollercoaster that can occur when we lose a beloved pet. Whether it is sudden or long-time coming, the permanence of a pet?s death can take its toll on thoughts and emotions that are a natural part of the healing process.
The group facilitator, Mark Bilkey, has over 15 years of experience in guiding individuals through the loss and transition process.
The support group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the Month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is no charge but pre-registration is required. To register call Tammie Bouschor at (312) 644-8338 ext. 344 or e-mail tbouschor@anticruelty.org.
The programs will be held in our Education and Training Center. Enter at 169 W. Grand Avenue. Free parking is available in The Anti-Cruelty Society parking garage. Enter from Wells Street ˝ block south of Grand Avenue.

Haute Dog Fashion Show

Join The Anti-Cruelty Society at the kick-off event for our annual gala, It?s Raining Cats and Dogs! Supporters will be strutting their stuff in Veruca Salt?s latest fall fashions while guests enjoy complimentary appetizers and cocktails.

Pet First Aid and CPR Class

Saturday 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
If your pet has a medical emergency will you be prepared? This course, taught by an American Red Cross authorized instructor, will cover Pet First Aid and CPR techniques. The emphasis will be on cats and dogs. Cat and Dog manikins will be used. Please do not bring your pet to class. The course length is 3 hours. The course fee is $50. It includes course materials, a pet emergency planner and pet emergency stickers. The Dog First Aid book and DVD set and Cat First Aid book and DVD set are not included in the course fee. The book and DVD sets will be made available for purchase at a cost of $17.00 each.
Pre-registration is required. Class sizes are limited. To pre-register, call Tammie Bouschor at (312) 644-8338 ext. 344 or e-mail tbouschor@anticruelty.org. The $50 course fee must be made prior to the class date. All classes will be held in The Anti-Cruelty Society Education and Training Center located at 169 W. Grand Avenue. Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be received prior to the scheduled class date to receive a full refund. No shows without prior notice will not be refunded.

Helping Community Cats Workshop

Monday 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Are you tired of seeing roaming cats and kittens everywhere in your neighborhood? Do you want to find out how you can help them and stop future generations from being born in your community? Join representatives from Alley Cat Allies and Tree House Animal Foundation for a short workshop on how to educate your neighbors, create a safety net for cats and stop the cycle of breeding in your neighborhood.

It's time for The Anti-Cruelty Society?s annual Bark-B-Que fundraiser at the Erie Street Café. Join us for bar-b-que, beverages, and fun with your pup**. Tickets are only $40 for humans and dogs are FREE.

**This indicates a dog friendly event. No aggressive dogs, no dogs in heat, all dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations, and all dogs must remain on leash at the event.

**THIS EVENT IS BYOB.** Ticket price includes complimentary light snacks as well as all painting supplies, aprons, instruction and you get to take home your masterpiece painted on an 11x14 canvas!!

Proceeds benefit The Anti-Cruelty's life-saving programs and services. Thank you for your support!

Reception begins at 5:00. Painting is from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
