Pets for the Elderly

The Anti-Cruelty Society's Pets for the Elderly adoption program helps match seniors with pets, bringing them both love and companionship for life. Clinical studies show that having a pet can prevent loneliness, decrease blood pressure, reduce stress and improve overall health and well-being.

The Pets for the Elderly Foundation sponsors the program that has helped create happy homes for over 2000 cats, dogs and seniors since 2002. Any person 60 years of age or older who can provide food, veterinary care and a loving home for the animal will qualify to adopt the pet at no charge. Pets eligible for adoption through this program include dogs 3 years of age and older and cats of any age.

Once you have made the decision to adopt a pet, visit The Anti-Cruelty Society and give a deserving cat or dog a second chance at happiness. Our representatives are in the adoption rooms to assist you in making the best choice for your lifestyle.

This adoption fee is subsidized through the generosity of The Pets for the Elderly Foundation.
Standard adoption requirements apply.
