Pet Visitation

The Anti-Cruelty Society Pet Visitation program offers dog owners a unique way to connect with their communities. In this program volunteers and their canine companions visit community organizations like hospitals, veteran's centers, or hospices where they can share their dog's love and affection with others.

Participants work directly with our Humane Education Department to coordinate visits in their area. Pet Visitation volunteers are responsible for providing their own transportation and the dog in their care must have a Canine Good Citizen Certification (CGC). The Anti-Cruelty Society offers preparatory classes and tests for the Canine Good Citizen Certification on a regular basis. To view upcoming CGC Prep Course & Test dates click here. Pet Visitation volunteers are also required to attend one of our bi-monthly Volunteer Orientations before starting visitation.

If you're interested in joining our Pet Visitation team send us an email! We'll help to get you connected!

If you are a facility (assisted living, hospital, children's center, hospice, etc.) that would like to have a pet visitation program, please email education@anticruelty.org.
