Adoptions
Adopting an animal is an important decision that will affect you, your household, and the animal for many years to come. Please plan on spending enough time with the animal to be sure of your selection. If you do not find the right animal on your first visit to our shelter, please return another day when many new animals will be available for adoption. Our animals come to us either because they were unwanted or they were once strays. We include as much information as we know about an animal on a card which is posted on the animal's kennel in our adoption rooms. We are here to help make a wonderful new addition to your family, but we cannot always guarantee you an adoption.

The Adoption Process
- Selection
Our staff are located in the dog and the cat adoption rooms to assist with selection and answer any questions. Remember, not all animals are appropriate for all household situations, so please allow our staff to assist you in selection. - Application and Counseling
Once you have decided on an animal, the room staff will provide you with an application form. Our counselors then review the information on the application. If the adoption is approved, we will provide you with information on training, health, and basic care. We will also answer any questions you may have.
