Monthly Giving
Tributes (Honors and Memorials)
Contributions in any amount, given in honor or in memory of a person or animal will be acknowledged with a card. Please provide the name of the honoree, the name and address of the individual(s) to be notified, and your name as it should appear on an acknowledgement. Tributes will be listed in the next printed edition of Animal Crackers, the Society’s newsletter.
Tribute Board
Located in The Anti-Cruelty Society’s Adoption Center lobby, the Tribute Board provides lasting recognition for a beloved pet or person. For a contribution of $500, we will include a name on the board. Names are listed in chronological order as received.
Kitty/Canine Condos
A gift of $750 provides annual care, food, and medication for the animals that pass through one of our Adoption Room kennels. A small plaque will be placed on the kennel, worded as you choose, recognizing your gift for a period of twelve months. Many people renew their condos each year; the plaque’s copy may be changed at that time.
Group contributions are welcome—celebrate a loved one’s birthday, wedding, graduation, baht mitzvah, or other occasion with a year’s worth of recognition while helping to care for deserving animals on their way to their new permanent, loving homes.
Special Gifts
Special gifts to the Society help to accomplish goals that require significant financial support such as building and renovation projects and the underwriting of special initiatives. Multi-year pledges can be made in many cases. Naming opportunities are available to recognize major contributions that assist the Society with building, renovation, and endowment projects.
Lenore Shapiro Adoption Garden
The Lenore Shapiro Adoption Garden in named in the memory of a long time supporter and friend of the Society. The garden provides a lovely, picturesque setting for potential adopters to socialize with dogs or contemplate their cat adoption. A gift of $1,000 underwrites a personalized wall tile in the garden. A larger contribution underwrites a bench. Gifts to the Adoption Garden assist in the maintenance of the garden as well as animal care.
Transfers of Stock or Other Securities
Please contact the Development Office at (312) 645-8001 to obtain information on how to contribute this type of gift to The Anti-Cruelty Society. Stock gifts are sometimes received without a donor’s name included. Proper instructions are necessary to allow us to acknowledge and record your gift appropriately.
