Help The Anti-Cruelty Society celebrate its 110th birthday by promoting kindness to animals
This year’s theme is: Making a Difference for Animals
There are many ways that people can help animals. You may wish to choose one of the following topics:- Spaying and Neutering
- Adopt Don’t Buy
- Help homeless pets
- Fight animal cruelty and abuse
- Being a responsible pet owner
Or come up with a topic of your own! How can you or your community make a difference for animals? This contest is open to all young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age. Special recognition will be given at each age level for each artistic genre in which entries have been received.
Age Levels:
5 to 7 year olds, 8 to 10 year olds, 11 to 13 year olds, 14 to 18 year oldsArtistic Genre Categories:
Rendering: Posters, Paintings, Drawings, Etching and Prints3 Dimensional: Sculpture, Crafts
Photography
Writing: Poetry, Short Story, Pay
Multi-media: Video, music, computer art
Entries will be judged by age level on originality, creativity and how well the entry illustrates the theme.
Contest rules:
Artists must be between the ages of 5 and 18 years old. Entries must be original. Entries must relate to the theme. All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Write the following information on the back of the entry or attach an index card to the artwork: artist name, age, school, parent’s name and phone number. Winner and their parents or legal guardians grant the right to use and publish the winner’s name, age and the winners name, age and the winning entry on The Anti-Cruelty Society’s website or in any other media. Every effort will be made to ensure the safety and security of all artwork. The Anti-Cruelty Society will not be held responsible for damages.The deadline for contest submissions is February 13th, 2009. Contest winners will be notified by phone. Prizes will be awarded at an awards ceremony on March 7th, 2009.
