The Anti-Cruelty Society presents
The Anti-Cruelty Society is putting out a call to all young artists to help celebrate its 111th birthday, by promoting kindness and respect for animals. The contest is open to all young people between five and eighteen years of age. Whether you are a gifted painter, an avid photographer or a budding poet, this is your chance to use your creativity to show your compassion for animals. Entries will be accepted in the following artistic genre categories: painting and drawing, three dimensional art, writing and multi-media.
This year’s theme is “Community of Caring”. Young artists may wish to choose one of the following topics to illustrate the theme:
- Being a responsible pet owner
- Stop overpopulation: Spay or Neuter your pet.
- Help Homeless Pets
- Fight animal cruelty and abuse
- Help animals by protecting the environment
- Or come up with a topic of your own! How can you or your community make the world a better place for people and animals?
Special recognition will be given at each age level for each artistic genre category in which entries have been received. Entries will be judged by age level on originality, creativity and how well the entry illustrates the theme. Prizes will be awarded at an awards ceremony on March 7, 2010 as part of The Anti-Cruelty Society’s 111th birthday celebration.
The deadline for contest submissions is February 12th 2010. Each entry must be accompanied by an Animal Expressions Entry Form. The entry form and contest rules can be downloaded by clicking here.
