Sarafina #14259158
Sarafina is a pretty 7-month old Boston Terrier/Boxer mix. She is playful and bouncy young dog who came to the shelter when her owners felt she was too vocal. Sarafina stars in her own video, click HERE to see it! She can be initially slightly suspicious in her kennel, but with some happy talk, she warms up quickly and is eager to come out. She will need to learn some leash manners as she can pull and grab at the leash. Sarafina is also rather jumpy and can get mouthy, which are typical behaviors for her age, but she listens very well to a verbal correction. The more worked up she gets the more pushy she becomes, but she will still listen and respond appropriately to a verbal, and she is extremely food motivated and works well for tasty treats. Sarafina already has a nice basic vocabulary, knowing commands such as sit and lie down, and could easily learn more. Stop on by The Anti-Cruelty Society and meet this fun girl, just ask for Sarafina, #14259158.
Chloe #14194364

Please meet Chloe! This pretty girl is 1 1/2 years old and came to the shelter back in October when her owner was moving and couldn't take her along. Chloe developed an upper respiratory infection that caused sever scarring to both her eyes, leaving her vision-impaired. In spite of it all, Chloe gets around very well and is a very gentle, sweet girl who is lovable and very sweet. She enjoys soft pets and snuggles, and sometimes even a tasty treat! Chloe is a very special girl who deserves someone just as special. Won't you come and meet her? Chloe is patiently waiting for you at The Anti-Cruelty Society, just ask for #14194364.
Bruno #13636610
Introducing Bruno - 7-month old Pit Bull mix who has a very special story. Bruno came to us when he was just about 1 1/2 months old. Unfortunately, he became very sick with pneumonia and spent quite a long time recovering. He feels great now and is as active and playful as any adolescent terrier, though Bruno has less functional lung than a normal dog his size and age (approximately only 60-75%). With his diminished lung capacity it may predispose Bruno to developing respiratory problems in the future. Currently, Bruno does not appear to have any difficulties breathing even at strenuous play, however, he should be carefully monitored in case he does have respiratory difficulty in the future. To see Bruno playing and having fun, click HERE to see his video!
Because Bruno has spent so much of his life at a shelter, he hasn't had much consistent guidance in developing good manners. With staff's help, Bruno has started working toward earning his K-9 B.A. in the C.L.A.S.S. program (mydoghasclass.com), which teaches dogs basic life and social skills. He's a great worker and we expect him to earn his degree very soon. Bruno is a very high energy young dog, and will need extensive mental and physical stimulation to help keep him occupied...he loves to play fetch and is a great problem solver! He will need active work on his mouthy-ness. Bruno will work hard and focus nicely for a bit of food, so this will be an advantage during his continued training. So if you are up for the challenge and the reward of adopting a special needs dog, please come meet Bruno, just ask for #13636610!
Cozy #9906662
Cozy is a beautiful 7-year old brown tabby with the prettiest green eyes! She came to the shelter when someone in her family became allergic and she had to be given up. Cozy only recently arrived in the adoption room and is a bit of a shy girl who is understandably a bit frightened by all the changes in her life. Once settled into her new home, Cozy is sure to relax and become the best buddy you were hoping she would be. An angel at heart, Cozy would love a home of her own where she will never have to worry about leaving again. Won't you come and meet her? Cozy would be ever so grateful if you did. She is waiting for you at The Anti-Cruelty Society, just ask for Cozy, #9906662. Cozy is ready to go home with you today!
