This adoption program is designed to find some very special dogs new homes. Dogs featured on this page will not be found among our general adoption population and can be seen by appointment only.
We are excited that you are showing an interest in one of our Bully Buddies and that you would like to schedule a visit with one. But to do that we need to receive a completed Adoption Application.
You can download an adoption application (Adobe Reader required). Please complete the form answering all questions thoroughly and send it by fax to (312) 644-3878 Attn: Tamra. Or send it by mail to: The Anti-Cruelty Society, 157 W. Grand Ave., Chicago IL 60654 Attn: Tamra. You can also contact Tamra via e-mail.
Remember to include at the top of the application the name of the dog(s) that you are most interested in seeing.
Please note that we evaluate animals on a regular basis and new dogs are added when available. Please check back regularly to see new additions to this program.
We will contact you within 3 days of receiving your application.
Pit Bull Terriers are wonderful dogs. However, they are not the pet for all households. We encourage you to do extensive research on the breed and what will be required of you to be a responsible owner of a Pit Bull Terrier. An excellent online resource would be
www.badrap.org to get you started in your research.
Visit our
Adoption Page for general information and adoption requirements. Each Bully Buddy adoption comes with additional benefits! See the
Pit Package page for more information!
The Anti-Cruelty Society reserves the right to accept/deny applications based on the particular needs of the animal.
Grace #680115

Hi, I'm Grace. I'm somewhere between 1 1/2 and 2 years old. I really enjoy being with people and love to meet and greet everyone I encounter. My friends at the ACS have helped me cultivate good manners and we are now working to achieve Canine Good Citizen certification for me. I do have special circumstances that my new family will have to consider. For instance, I "hop" like a bunny when I run due to an issue with my hind legs. Personally, I prefer to think that this is just part of my charm since it doesn't seem to hinder my mobility. I enjoy play sessions as much as cuddle sessions. All around, I am full of grace and love.
UPDATE: Grace just passed her Canine Good Citizen Test! She is now "CGC Certified"!
To meet Grace, please download an adoption application (Adobe Reader required) and fax it to (312) 644-3878. Please be sure to write my name and number (680115) on the application!
Rocco #681301

My name is Rocco. I am about 11-12 mos. old. I am very compact but muscular in build. When I first arrived at the ACS I was terribly shy and found it difficult to leave the safety of a lap. With lots of love and patience I am emerging from my shell and gaining confidence everyday. Generally, I am a happy guy who loves people and so far am okay with other dogs. I enjoy playtime and cuddle time. I am doing very well with learning basic obedience and walk nicely on leash. My athletic build would make me a great jogging companion and I can really leap so agility could also be a consideration for me. I really hope for a forever family that will have the patience to help me continue to build my confidence. I promise lots of love and loyalty in return.
ROCCO HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
