Our Bully Buddies

This adoption program is designed to find some very special dogs new homes. Dogs featured on this page will not be found among our general adoption population and can be seen by appointment only.

We are excited that you are showing an interest in one of our Bully Buddies and that you would like to schedule a visit with one.  But to do that we need to receive a completed Adoption Application.

You can download an adoption application (Adobe Reader required).  Please complete the form answering all questions thoroughly and send it by fax to (312) 644-3878 Attn: Tamra.  Or send it by mail to: The Anti-Cruelty Society, 157 W. Grand Ave., Chicago IL 60654  Attn: Tamra.  You can also contact Tamra via e-mail.

Remember to include at the top of the application the name of the dog(s) that you are most interested in seeing.

Please note that we evaluate animals on a regular basis and new dogs are added when available.  Please check back regularly to see new additions to this program.

We will contact you within 3 days of receiving your application.

Pit Bull Terriers are wonderful dogs.  However, they are not the pet for all households.  We encourage you to do extensive research on the breed and what will be required of you to be a responsible owner of a Pit Bull Terrier.  An excellent online resource would be www.badrap.org to get you started in your research.

Visit our Adoption Page for general information and adoption requirements. Each Bully Buddy adoption comes with additional benefits! See the Pit Package page for more information!

The Anti-Cruelty Society reserves the right to accept/deny applications based on the particular needs of the animal.

Ernie #691115

Come and meet Ernie! This handsome boy is only seven months old, so he still has a bit of growing to do, both in body and in mind. Ernie can become somewhat jumpy when he’s really excited, so he would do best in a home with older children while he works on keeping his paws on the ground.  Considering he is still a young, energetic adolescent, however, Ernie can be quite the gentleman.  He loves a good game of fetch and will happily play the game as long as you can throw a ball. He already knows ‘sit’ and seems ready and willing to learn more commands. If you are looking for a goofy and lively young dog to be both an exercise companion and a snuggle buddy, then Ernie may be the Bully Buddy for you! Call today and make an appointment to meet Ernie.

To meet Ernie, please download an adoption application (Adobe Reader required) and fax it to (312) 644-3878. Please be sure to write her name and number (691115) on the application!

Pebbles #688772

Pebbles is a pretty, polite, one and a half year old girl. She was somewhat frightened when she first arrived at the shelter but has since relaxed and shown us what a lovely pup she truly is! Cute and fun, Pebbles has a lot to offer her new family. She spent some time with older kids who adored her, but she'll do just as nicely in a home with adults who will take her running, play games and shower her with love.  Pebbles has already learned the command "sit" but she's eager to learn more so she can show off how smart she is. Petite in stature but loaded with love, Pebbles is ready to find her forever home!

To meet Pebbles, please download an adoption application (Adobe Reader required) and fax it to (312) 644-3878. Please be sure to write her name and number (688772) on the application!

Daisy #691074

Come and meet Daisy! Just as pretty as her namesake, Daisy is one year old and much more than a lovely face. She is immensely social and wants to make friends with everyone she meets, and in fact bounds up to new people as if they are already close companions. She came to the shelter knowing ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘paw’, and is starting to learn how to navigate an agility course. Daisy can be temporarily startled by unfamiliar things but she recovers nicely and will approach the item to explore, especially with some happy human encouragement. Daisy LOVES her toys and has no problem either sharing them with people, or blissfully rolling around on the floor with a rope toy in her mouth. Daisy would do best in a home with slightly older children as she does like to jump up on people and give them a couple love nibbles when she’s really excited. She’ll stop when you ask her to, but her new family will need to provide her with regular exercise to channel her energy and keep her happy and healthy. Call now to make an appointment to meet Daisy. She’s already pleased to meet you!

Zeus #688247

Like the Greek god of myth, Zeus is a strong and beautiful creature, capable of great feats such as softening the hardest of hearts! Though he has power, two year old Zeus rarely uses his strength when walking on a leash, and he greets people and dogs politely like a gentleman. He'll still need plenty of exercise to keep him fit, and oodles of toys to play with. He'll do anything for a bit of food, which means he's capable of learning so much more than "sit", but there's one thing he was born knowing: how much he enjoys living with and loving people!
Zeus' video is still available for viewing in our Video Gallery.  Click HERE to see it.
