Teen Volunteers

The Teen Volunteer Program is for youth ages 13 - 17 years old who wish to volunteer for The Anti-Cruelty Society and are seeking to earn service learning hours for school. The program runs in month-long sessions and is overseen by shelter staff. Due to the level of supervision required, participation is limited to 10 teens per session. To qualify you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Be willing to work 3 hours a day on 4 consecutive weekend days
  • Be participating in a school program where you are required to earn service learning hours

Participants will have an opportunity to learn about how an animal shelter works, help in different departments through special projects, and meet many of our shelter staff (and animals too)!

Sessions last for 4 weeks and are filled on a first-come first-served basis. Due to the popularity of this program, reservations for upcoming sessions are booked months in advance.

If you are at least 18 years of age, you can become a regular Volunteer!
