Mr. Binx (left)
Mr. Binx and I are getting along fabulously after 2+ weeks of cohabitation. He has a number of favorite games, including: bathtub cat finger attack, where he sits in the bathtup while I run my finger over the rim until he jumps at it; bullfight, where I hit the floor repeatedly with his dangling-feather-on-a-stick and he takes bull runs at it from various corners of the apartment; belly-decoy, where he acts like he wants me to rub his belly, then attempts to attack my hand (I substitute a fuzzy ball at that point); and a new game he devised this morning, where he goes into his hidey hole (an empty low shelf hidden by a tapestry) and attacks the feather-stick, which I poke at him under the cloth. He also loves to sit and look out the windows and the back screen doors. I got him a cat bed that he has taken to sleeping in right next to the head of my futon, but in the night he usually snuggles by my legs. He wakes me up for food and play around 6 am most days, but on weekends he usually settles for me going back to sleep. He's started to vocalize a lot more, which is nice. He also likes to sniff my nose in greeting, and he likes it when we rub our heads together. He's a great guy and I love him loads. Thanks to The Anti-Cruelty Society for taking such good care of him!

Pinky (right)
Here is a photo of Pinky. We adopted her a little over a month ago. She was very shy at first, but in the last month she's really come out of her shell. We spent some time at a cabin in the woods in Michigan and Pinky loved to smell and follow the deer tracks there and jump over fallen trees. She's seriously amazing at jumping. Now we're back in Chicago and she seems possibly even happier! We live two blocks from a dog park and she loves to go and meet the other dogs. Her tail wags really big whenever we go outside and she's just begun to hang out around the house with us. Before, she preferred her crate even when we left the door open. She's learned "sit" and is learning "come." She's the sweetest doggie ever and we are SO HAPPY to have her in our family. This is a picture of her hanging out on our back porch while we worked on our bicycles. Thanks to you guys for bringing us to Pinky!

Willie (left)
I saw your request to "share our story", so here it is, short but sweet. We had recently lost Neuman, our cat of 14 years and came to The Anti-Cruelty Society to look around. We walked into Charlotte's Cat Corner and Willie came right up to us and started rubbing on us and purring. Well, we were sold! He is friendly, lovable and full of energy. He loves to chase his toy mice all over the house. As you can see from the attached pictures, he had a terrible time settling in that first day (not). He felt right at home immediately and really helped ease the hurt of losing Neuman. Thanks to all the great staff that make the adoption process so easy!

Toni (right)
Toni was one of your first Bully Buddy participants. She's taken Training 101 with The Anti-Cruelty Society and has worked very hard over the past year and a half to overcome the many fears she had when we brought her home (though she's still a bit afraid of cats). She's also helped many of our friends and neighbors overcome their fears and learn that pit bulls can be gentle, loving pets. Many thanks to The Anti-Cruelty Society for introducing us to, bar none, the best dog we've had the honor of knowing and having as part of our family.
