Pet Loss and Grief Support Group

Anyone who considers a pet a beloved friend, companion, or family member knows the intense pain that accompanies the loss of that friend. For this reason, The Anti-Cruelty Society is now offering a Pet Loss and Grief Support Group. The meetings provide a safe, warm place to share and heal our grief. It is a place of openness, honesty, and sensitivity to the very real pain of people who know what it means to love and lose a pet. Meetings are guided by licensed therapist; Connie Stuetzer, L.C.S.W; A.C.S.W. Connie has twenty years experience in grief support work; ten years at Children’s Memorial Hospital working with children with cancer and she is currently leading grief support groups at Gilda’s Club, Chicago.

The support group will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The schedule is subject to change. (See the Event Page for scheduled meetings.) The meetings will be held in The Anti-Cruelty Society Education and Training Center. Enter from 169 W. Grand Avenue. Free parking is available in The Anti-Cruelty Society parking garage.
