Marathon Team

 Welcome to The Anti-Cruelty Society's
Marathon Team Website!

You can save lives and support The Anti-Cruelty Society while running for our Bank of America Chicago Marathon or Rock 'n' Roll Chicago half marathon team!

Chicago’s oldest and largest private, open-admission humane society is building a community of caring by helping pets and educating people. As a member of The Anti-Cruelty Society team, you can accomplish your personal goals, while getting to know other animal-loving athletes, and becoming a part of our community of caring.

Each team member must commit to raising a minimum of $600 (entry fee is not included and must be paid for by each runner when signing up for the race) for The Anti-Cruelty Society. In return, you will take advantage of some great benefits, including:

Free training program with Coach Mark Buciak: (over a $350 value) As your full-time, experienced coach, Mark Buciak will give you one-on-one training to help you succeed! As a runner and a coach he has completed the last 30 consecutive Boston Marathons with a PB of 2:30:25, making him the only Illinois member of Boston’s elite “Quarter Century Club” (QCC). For more information about Coach Mark and his training program visit his website at http://roadtoboston.weebly.com/coach-mark.html.

Pet-Friendly Informational Seminars to help you get the latest updates on our running team, get outfitted in the best running gear for you, and ensure your safety.

Complimentary Bucca De Bippo Pre-Race Pasta Dinner: Bucca De Bippo will be providing a wonderful pre-race pasta dinner for all marathon team runners.

Reduced rates on “Sit. Stay. Drink.” Monthly Mixers: These monthly mixers are extremely fun – plus you can bring your pup! They are open to all of The Anti-Cruelty Society’s supporters and Marathon team members. It’s a great way to kick back and relax with your pup at several of Chicago’s pet friendly hot-spots, as well as get to know your team members! Discounted rates will be given to all marathon and half marathon team members.
