Ultimate Fight for Compassion, Anti-Violence/Anti-Dog Fight Event!
The Anti-Cruelty Society recognizes that prevalent violence in the community is affecting our youth more than ever before. With a mission of building a community of caring by helping pets and educating people, The Anti-Cruelty Society is partnering with the Chicago Public Schools Community Relations, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Pit Bull Training Team and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski to present the “Ultimate Fight for Compassion” Anti-Violence/Anti Dog Fight Event!
This exciting and informative program will be held at Team Englewood High School, 6201 S. Stewart in Chicago, Thursday, June 10th. The program is geared towards high school students with the aim of introducing them to positive role models and programs that demonstrate alternatives to violence as a form of conflict resolution. Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski, police officer turned fighter and animal lover, Arlovski is now top-ranked in the MMA and will speak to youth about making positive choices and applying discipline to avoid the negative influences they may encounter in their lives.
Members of The Anti-Cruelty Society’s humane education department and The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Pit Bull Training Team will also participate in the program. The Anti-Cruelty Society’s humane educators reach thousands of students and community members every year with presentations regarding the importance of respect and kindness towards animals. The Pit Bull Training team will give an exciting and inspiring demonstration; the same performance that is regularly featured at the United Center as part of the Chicago Bulls game time entertainment.
