Teen Volunteer Program

The Anti-Cruelty Society offers service-learning opportunities for teens who are looking to complete community service hours for school. The program includes activities that individual students or classrooms can perform to help us fulfill our mission of helping pets and educating people. Additional information can be found here.

Foster Volunteering

The Anti-Cruelty Society's dedicated group of Foster volunteers provides temporary housing for animals who are not yet ready for adoption room placement. The individual love and care of a foster parent gives each animal an opportunity to flourish in a home, rather than in the shelter environment. Special Events

If you're interested in representing The Anti-Cruelty Society in off-site events - consider training to be a Special Events volunteer. In this role people from the community act as ambassadors of our organization by attending mixers, outreach parties and other social meet-ups on our behalf. Society Street Team

This group of animal-loving volunteers works closely with our Marketing team to get the word out about upcoming events, campaigns and advocacy calls. Volunteers help spread our message of caring across the internet using social media and through the community with grass-rots poster hanging. If you find yourself short on time, but with a passion for helping homeless pets, this is a great way to get involved!

Pet Visitation

Do you have a dog who’s super social and well-behaved? Have you dreamed of volunteering side-by-side with your pet? If so, then the Pet Visitation Program sounds like your perfect fit! In this program, volunteers and their dogs visit with local community organizations alongside our Humane Education team to bring the message of compassion and care to others. Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation and own a dog with a Canine Good Citizen Certification. To learn more about the Pet Visitation program, click here.

Do-It-Yourself Donations

Enrich the lives of shelter pets by creating fun and functional crafts from home. From no-sew to crochet, we have a variety of techniques and projects that you create and then donate to needy shelter animals. For a list of projects click here.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Are you planning a service day with your work colleagues? Do you have a group of students with a passion for pets who want to help? Whether for a school outing or corporate event, there are many ways in which outside groups can get involved with our community of caring! Whether by hosting a donation drive or coordinating a pet toy crafting party, we'll help you plan your outreach event.

Please note that we do not have any on-site animal handling opportunities for groups at this time.
