Working Through Pet Loss

Wednesday 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
This open educational group is dedicated to working through the emotional rollercoaster that can occur when we lose a beloved pet. Whether it is sudden or long-time coming, the permanence of a pet?s death can take its toll on thoughts and emotions that are a natural part of the healing process.
The group facilitator, Mark Bilkey, has over 15 years of experience in guiding individuals through the loss and transition process.
The support group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the Month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is no charge but pre-registration is required. To register call Tammie Bouschor at (312) 644-8338 ext. 344 or e-mail tbouschor@anticruelty.org.
The programs will be held in our Education and Training Center. Enter at 169 W. Grand Avenue. Free parking is available in The Anti-Cruelty Society parking garage. Enter from Wells Street ˝ block south of Grand Avenue.

Sunday, November 11th 3-6pm

Join Perry Dog®, Chicagos newest online dog product retailer and designer, for their 1st Annual Casting Call and Fundraiser benefiting The Anti-Cruelty Society. The fundraiser will be November 11th at Chicago Party Animals from 3-6pm. Chicago Party Animals is a dog friendly event space located at 1133 W. Fulton Market in Chicago. There will be food, cocktails, a silent auction, and 3 hours of playtime for you and your pooch. In addition, Perry Dog® will be conducting a live photo shoot featuring your small breed dog in Perry Dog® gear! By participating in the casting call, your dog will be featured on their new website and blog.

This event is for dogs 30 lbs. and under.

The price is $10.00 per human guest and $5.00 per dog.

Pet First Aid and CPR Class

Saturday 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
If your pet has a medical emergency will you be prepared? This course, taught by an American Red Cross authorized instructor, will cover Pet First Aid and CPR techniques. The emphasis will be on cats and dogs. Cat and Dog manikins will be used. Please do not bring your pet to class. The course length is 3 hours. The course fee is $50. It includes course materials, a pet emergency planner and pet emergency stickers. The Dog First Aid book and DVD set and Cat First Aid book and DVD set are not included in the course fee. The book and DVD sets will be made available for purchase at a cost of $17.00 each.
Pre-registration is required. Class sizes are limited. To pre-register, call Tammie Bouschor at (312) 644-8338 ext. 344 or e-mail tbouschor@anticruelty.org. The $50 course fee must be made prior to the class date. All classes will be held in The Anti-Cruelty Society Education and Training Center located at 169 W. Grand Avenue. Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be received prior to the scheduled class date to receive a full refund. No shows without prior notice will not be refunded.

Helping Community Cats Workshop

Monday 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Are you tired of seeing roaming cats and kittens everywhere in your neighborhood? Do you want to find out how you can help them and stop future generations from being born in your community? Join representatives from Alley Cat Allies and Tree House Animal Foundation for a short workshop on how to educate your neighbors, create a safety net for cats and stop the cycle of breeding in your neighborhood.
